Dr. Nancy Cibotti is a primary care physician and educator with more than 30 years of experience practicing in the Boston area. Valued for her collaborative approach to patient care, she is known for having a deep understanding of her patients’ values and what drives them, allowing her to create tailored health plans that empower her patients to lead active, healthy lives. Beyond her clinical practice, Dr. Cibotti has built and led teams dedicated to advancing patient-centered care, with a strong commitment to serving diverse patient populations.
Dr. Cibotti graduated from Harvard College and completed her medical training at Dartmouth Medical School and the Brown University School of Medicine, followed by a Primary Care Residency at Cornell Medical Center/New York Hospital. Dr. Cibotti is also board-certified in Lifestyle Medicine.
Prior to MD², Dr. Cibotti practiced at Bulfinch Medical Group, Massachusetts General Hospital, where she developed expertise in preventive care, women’s health, and sports medicine, and was trusted by elite athletes, including U.S. Olympians. She also served as a Harvard faculty educator, mentoring residents, developing peer review programs, and introducing motivational interviewing techniques to enhance physician-patient communication.
Her leadership roles at Beth Israel Lahey Health include Chief Innovation Officer for Primary Care, supporting 85 practices, and Senior Medical Director of Care Development, Innovation and Operations, overseeing 40 practices. She launched the Virtual Primary Care Program and designed the Clinician Development Program. Her dedication earned recognition as a Beth Israel Lahey Health Physician of the Year Finalist and the Schwartz Center Award for Compassionate Care at Massachusetts General Hospital.
Dr. Nancy Cibotti views medicine as a partnership, choosing primary care for the privilege of caring for the whole person. She believes physical, mental, and social health are interconnected, and begins by deeply understanding each patient’s values and motivations. At MD² Boston Back Bay, she is dedicated to providing personalized care and fostering lasting relationships with patients and their families.
Outside of her medical practice, Dr. Cibotti enjoys hiking with her husband and dog on Cape Cod and exploring the Arnold Arboretum. She values time spent with family and is an avid sports fan, especially basketball, having played varsity basketball during her years at Harvard.
